Gambling Corner 8/5

I’ll take a 3-1 night. I took a chance on the Mets but they couldn’t pull it out. There were a few chances in the last couple innings. How about Shane Bieber though? Another strong performance, 8 strikeouts, and the Indians come back with a big home run in the 8th from Franmil Reyes. On to tonight’s picks.

Lakers -6

The Lakers have the West wrapped up but they still have some things to figure out going in to the playoffs. The Thunder are going to put up a good fight while still fighting for a higher seed in the middle of the West. Sprinkle some money on Lebron with a triple double if you’re feeling frisky.

Red Sox +120

This is a line move play. The line moved from +165 down to +120. I’m not sure what Vegas sees after the Red Sox lost their 4th straight loss. Austin Meadows is also back and the Rays pounded out nine hits in the 5-1 win. Maybe Vegas is baiting me in but I had to take a chance on it.

Penguins -175

The Penguins still didn’t look perfect on Monday but they still managed a 3-1 win to tie the series. The power play is still waiting to break out but the team got a good performance from Matt Murray and Sidney Crosby continues to shine. I expect Sid to continue his dominance and the Penguins to cruise the rest of this series to advance.

Avalanche -139

This series just isn’t a fair fight. The Stars are 29th in the league while the Avalanche score the 3rd most in the league. The Stars live and die on the defensive end as they give up the 2nd least amount of goals. Something has to give here and I’m rolling with Nathan MacKinnon and the Avs.
